In Isabell Heimerdinger’s short film Good Friends, a minimalist performance unfolds almost unnoticed inside a bustling family restaurant in Beijing. Two men quietly swap tables mid-meal and continue eating as if nothing out of the ordinary has happened. Inspired by a work by Tino Sehgal, the film stages this subtle disruption within a richly decorative setting, inviting viewers to reconsider notions of attention, detail, and the construction of narrative.
